Fojo 3D Prints Their Way to UWI's World Cocoa Day

October 1 was World Cocoa Day and the University of the West Indies executed another chocolatey convention this year at their St. Augstine campus.

Fojo 3D Printing, in conjunction with Lopinot Chocolate to create custom chocolates for the day. A few days beforehand, we 3D printed custom, 1-sided chocolate molds with PLA plastic. When the item was produced, we handed over the mold to Lopinot Chocolate where their organic chocolates were put to set for three (3) days in the mold.

On the day of the convention, we met with a number of persons, young and old, from all backgrounds. Many persons were unaware of this new 3D technology, while other persons, such as engineering and medical students, were familiar with the process. We showcased our custom chocolate molds, along with several other 3D printed items.

The cocoa industry in Trinidad and Tobago is noted to be THE best cocoa industry internationally. We have already started to penetrate this market through our abilities to produce custom molds for clients, and in a few weeks to come, we will also be launching the CocoJet, which prints directly in chocolate!

How cool would it be to scan yourself at Fojo 3D Printing with our Sense 3D Scanner, and then proceed to get yourself printed in chocolate? Of course it would be something fun to look at, but we are sure it would be even more exciting to eat!
